Chinese Mono Cycle?

I'm interested in those mono cycles that were in the closing of the Olympics. Can they bought directly from a Chinese dealer, or does anyone know of a US importer? What do they cost?

incident with bicyclist today

This is in California. I was going on a 1-lane downhill road with a bike lane. Before coming to a stop sign, the bike lane ended, and the road became a two lane road. In California, at least, I remember reading in the drivers' manual that one is supposed to occupy the bike lane before turning right (which is usually no longer marked with a solid white line before... more »

car door liability

Would a motorist have any liability ff they were opened a parked car's door and "car doored" you? Would you recommend getting the driver's name, phone number and insurance policy #? I live in Philadelphia where bicyclists must be vigiliant about getting smacked by a car door that opens.

I noticed that REI is having a big Labor Day sale, and has some of their best bicycles on sale. The Novara "Big Buzz" which is apparently the only flat bar road bike on the market with disc brakes, the Novara Safari, and the Novara Transfer (with a dynamo hub) are on sale.

Max speed misreading on wired computer

Hi all, I've got a Cateye Strada cadence that I've been using for about 200 miles now, mostly in 15-40 mile rides. For the first time, today on a short lunchtime ride, the max speed was way off. It read 53.6MPH, and there's no way I broke 35. Until today it's been accurate, at least as far as I can tell. Since its wired, I figure interference is out.... more »
